Chief Engineers required for Tug and towage operations around the UK

Responsibilities

• As sole Engineer aboard the vessel, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:-
• Be responsible for the safe operation of the vessels and engines, generators and associated machinery and equipment;
• Ensure all machinery (deck and engine) is maintained to operational standards at all times;
• Take ownership of all machinery spaces, keeping them clean, tidy and hazard-free at all times;
• Report and breakdowns or faults to the Master and Technical Superintendent at all times to arrange repair either internally or via external contractors;
• Maintain the vessel in accordance with the planned maintenance system and assisting the Technical Superintendent with docking specifications for dry dock and repairs;
• Ensure the vessel has sufficient bunkers and lube oil to remain operational at all times;
• Carry out ships husbandry and Health and Safety checks aboard the vessel, rectifying and reporting faults as required;
• Follow all statutory and regulatory guidelines as laid down the company, Flag State and Class Society procedures;
• To work as part of a close knit team aboard and accepting inter-departmental duties involving deck and engine roles.
